For TED, I am newly diagnosed with HTN (Hypertension). I have been taking digestive enzymes for about a year for better digestion (similase combination). Is that making me more acidic and how do I incorporate that into the ACV regiment? Thanks Joanne
I too have been diagnosed with hypertension. Not so much do to my weight but a horrible inherited disease passed from my dad. Apple cider vinager is very tasty, and it has a blood thinning effect wich allows blood to flow more fluid through out the body. I make my own salad dressing using apple cider vinager and everyday I drench my saled with it and dont waste a drop. I would like to say that it is a great way to help high blood pressure. I am also currently on 2 bp medications. Before the meds and vinager I was averaging 146/96 or higher. Now my average low is 116/68. But these past two days it has been elevated for some reason. So I guess im torn on the effects of apple cider vinager. But at least it tastes good!!!
Even I have been taking ACV regularly, but my BP keeps on fluctuating and has always been consistently in pre hypertension range, with maximum times being in hypertension range with readings like 138/92 or 144/96.
Along with ACV if I exercise, it helps in getting it down and to me the breathing machine resperate seems to help as well.
Hi Folks, I have read with a lot of interest many posts on this website. As someone who has had essential hypertension for many years (160mm/100mm, unmedicated and 130/90 with three medicines - angiotensin blocker, Ca channel blocker, and beta blocker), I have been on the quest for drug free cure. I am 47, in good health, work out every day (ran a marathon last year), and watch what I eat carefully. The doctors have not been able to ID what is the cause of my rampant high BP.
I have begun the ACV protocol and I am noticing substantial improvement over the last few weeks. But more importantly, several studies have been done in Japan (medically accepted double blind studies). Please note that in Japan, vinegar is a part of the food (sushi has vinegar/rice). Here is one such study.
The key is to look for impact of acetic acid on hypertension. Acetic acid is the primary component ACV. Acetic acid has a substantial and sustained impact on high BP AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS. I have quoted one study here. There are many more. No wonder there is not a whisper about these studies in the medical circles here - the drug companies cannot make a buck on this. There are may causes of hypertension, I suspect that ACV affects only a few of the pathways, hence the variation in results.
BTW, it would appear that acetic acid is used to reduce tumors on the adrenal gland (functional adrenal adenoma) by injecting acetic acid directly into the tumor using Computed Tomography. This fixes a condition called aldersteroma (?) which lowers BP for people who have essential (cause unknown) hypertension.
Life is Good.
Hi all, I am 28 years old and have had pre-hypertension for about the last year...usual readings were anywhere from 120-130/80-87. I stumbled upon this site in hopes for a natural remedy to lower my numbers. I was giving the raw, unfiltered ACV to my pets (just a bit in their water) and I had never tried it myself. For days 1 & 2 I used 2 tbsp. 3 times a day diluted in 10 ounces of water, then went to 2 tsp. 3 times a day.
All I have to say is that the results for me were amazing. After 4 days of taking ACV, my numbers are already lower. I just took my BP this morning and it was 110/63, and this is the average since I've been taking ACV. My fiance and I work in the medical industry and have a very expensive, trusted digital BP cuff we use here at home, so I am not worried about these results not being accurate.

First let me start with I found this site by a search to find a source to assist with HBP on 1/3/2010. I was told in 2007 my BP was Pre-Hypertension 151/114. I was not put on medication right away. I asked to attempt to reduce on my own. Because I was unsuccessful, I was put on 5mg of Lisinopril. I developed symptoms, coughing, limbs going numb, low BP. also, this med was not successful in maintaining my BP. My BP has been averaging from 139/110-132/98. After reading others testimonies, on 1/7/2010, I purchased the mother ACV. That evening I mixed 1 tablespoon of ACV, 1 tablespoon of honey in 8 ounce of water. On Friday 1/8/2010 repeated the process 3x during the day. As of 1/9/2010, I cuffed as soon as I woke up BP registered 120/85. After rising and handling several task I cuffed again BP 98/76. I DID NOT BELIEVE IT SO I CUFFED AGAIN. My BP was 106/81. YES, IT WORKS!
Thanks for your site and all the responses.

high blood pressure
I was diagnosed with exercise induced hypertension about a month ago. I am very lucky as the cardiologist told me he believes in natural medicine and he gave me until February to get better before he would put me on blood pressure meds.
The apple cider vinegar has worked. I love it so much I drink it at least 3 times daily. I put 1 tablespoon in about 8 oz.water. I add 3 packet of real lemon and 2 packets of truvia. I add ice and it tastes like a tangy lemonade.
Initially when I was worked up they had to stop the treadmill because I went in with normal BP and in 2 minutes it was 220/118. I was shocked. Never in my life have I had this problem.
Last week I was running many errands and walked back and forth across Target twice..I felt so tired I thought uh oh I better check my B/P. I went to the pharmacy and it read 130/80. That is still not my usual low BP but I think that is great after running around all day
I was diagnosed a few days ago with High Blood Pressure. Last year I was in a terrible accident with a bus, whoich left me with a few multiple anxiety disorders. Since I was 19, I have practiced Yoga and vegetarianism, I am 57 years of age presently. I tried the blood pressure mediceine once and felt like I was going to die. After speaking with a few friends including a 33, 52 and 43 year old, whom each had been diagnosed with high blood pressure, hypertension, etc. they suggested I not take the medicine. I not only planned to not take it, I told the doctor that if anyone was to prescribe anything for me, it would have to be me. I have beefed up my Yoga routine, I have no weight issues, or had a background, other than before I became a vegetarian, I beleive that I can get my bp down. I had ACV in my cabinet, and wanted to remind myself of what a marvelous home remedy it is. I would love to report, my findings in a week. Presently my bp is 180/100. I am learning to relax in an unrelaxed society.
My dad suffers from hypertension for more than a decade and has been on prescribed medication that caused so much side effect, one of which is insomnia. I stumbled on this great website and most importantly, blessed by your advice, he is now taking apple cider vinegar with honey twice a day, do you recommend to add baking soda to the drink? What about giving him sea salt water on regular basis? Please give us your valuable advice, my mum's acid reflux was healed after taking your advice of taking ACV plus baking soda. Thank you!

apple cider vinegar really works! me and my husband experimented to give it a try for he has hypertension. usually his reading is 135/86 after taking his htn meds. he took the prescribed 2 tsps plus a glass of water and to our amazement, he had a reading of 120/60 for his bp and he never get that low even with htn meds. acv really does work. give it a try, it would save you from complications of medications.
I'm a 45 year old male. Slim, excercise 2-3 times/week, eat healthy, no alcohol. I've had primary hypertension since my mid 30's (150/95 or so w/o medication). Cholesterol has always been perfect. Have been taking Licinopril/HCTZ successfully for many years (BP=130/75). Have tried many non-drug cures. Decided to try to come off the medication using ACV. Bought the "natural" kind with mother and all that. Used it for 2 weeks. 2 Tablespoons with honey and water, 2 times per day. At end of 2 weeks tried to begin coming off of medication but pressure had shot to 160/95. Resumed medication and discontinued ACV. Didn't work for me. Any other suggestions? Higher dosage? I've tried all the homeopathic cures for my HBP. Nothing but medication has worked. I've kept my Dr. informed of my escapades and the only thing he told me to continue is my fish oil pill I take daily. I also continue to take a calcium suppliment and glucosamine (for joint pain) and a multivitamin every other day. I was able to cut my medication pill in half over two years ago by adhearing loosely to the DASH diet. I eat a bananna every day and normally either an orange and sometimes an apple. Eating much more leafy green veggies too. Baked salmon at least once/week. A fairly healthy eater but I still eat red meat 1-2 times per week. Tried years ago cutting down on red meat but was later found to be borderline anemic. Started eating more veggies after that as well as a little more red meat. Would like something like ACV to work. Any other ideas about dosage, etc.?

In January of this year I was getting headaches and an uneasy feeling---feeling out of sorts. I am a nurse, so I had other nurses take my blood pressure and it was elevated 160/90. This just added to my anxiety because, as a nurse, I know of the devastating effects of not treating hypertension. A coworker has been on a health kick and swears by a 'tonic' that helps 'everything'. I too decided to try it. I mixed 1 cup of _______ vinegar, 1 cup raw honey and 8 cloves of garlic in a blender for about a minute. I then poured it in a clean glass pickle jar, put the lid on it and kept it in the fridge for 5 days. All this time I was checking my BP and was getting consistent readings of 150 to 170 systolic over 86 to 94 diastolic. On the 5th day, I shook my 'tonic', poured 2 tablespoons in a half glass of low sodium V8 and did this once a day for 2 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks, doing NOTHING differently except taking this everyday, I have a miracle to report. I no longer have headaches when I'm running up and down the halls, no more uneasy feelings----and the reason? My BP is back to normal. My readings are now 120 to 130 over 78 to 86, over and over again!!! NO ONE WILL EVER TELL ME THIS DOESN"T WORK ---I HAVE PROFESSIONAL WITNESSES! About 90% of the staff on my floor are converts....Something so simple with none of the side effects my patients are on with some drugs we dispense like candy. Don't be foolish---see how good you feel after a few weeks on this stuff....I feel like a kid again and even sleep soundly! That in itself is worth a million bux.
Well, I have been told by my doctor that I have hypertension BP 145/99. He put me on meds last year they worked ok at first. Now he is telling me it's still high so he put me on more meds to take with the one he's already giving me. He also told me my Cholesterol is too high - 266. So I was doing some internet work and came upon your site talking about A.C.V. And so today I started to take it 3/08/07 I'm looking foreword to getting off the med's some time soon I'll keep in touch and let everyone how it is going. thank you

Hello EC, Hypertension: John. [email@example.com]
Some points never addressed by doctors or pharmaceutical companies, for obvious reasons.
1.When taking BP measure, how much 'mmhg' to deduct for doctors 'white coat syndrome'?
2. How much to deduct, for the smaller stress of taking your own BP measure?
3. How much to deduct for circadian highs at - 6 a.m., 1200, 1700 p.m.?
4. How much to add due to side effects of drugs, such as, nervousness, fear, worry, anxiousness & stress?
5. How much to add for being 76 y.o. but deduct for being 52 kilos & exercise?
All doctors don't take any of this into account. It makes the difference between a good day or a stressful day.
My BP began with 2 vertigo experiences, a month apart. The second one, I went to a doctor, who frightened me with talk of strokes & heart attacks & sold me lots of drugs. From then on I was taking drugs for the last 4 years with all the side affects, plus 'inactive ingredients', which cause rebound, dependency, which is medi-speak for addiction. BP at the beginning was 160/99. Drugs got it down, around 140/80, but with odd peaks of 160/85. This last year they average around 135/83. No big deal but I continued to work on it with ECs help & recently touched 113/65. This with 10mg. a.m. Nifelat-R, a slow release Nifedipine & nothing at night. Side effects are, tremors, worry, anxiousness, stress which you have already guessed, pushes up the BP a little & you should have guessed also that 'side effects' are not - but are intentional. Paranoia? Think what you will.
My BP lows are due to one tablespoon [15mm] of Apple Cider Vinegar plus same water, plus teaspoon honey, plus 1/8 tsp. bi-carb soda [Pong Foo] 3 times a day. I like the way it froths & bubbles before I drink it. Tastes good too. Yum!
